Dear Seniors and Parents,
Once again, we are making a very difficult decision. Due to circumstances that are totally out of our control the Graduation plans have been modified. The district is attempting to make this a very special celebration for the seniors. The plans are as follows:
The time will remain the same, 9:00AM (Please begin lining up at 8:30AM) Saturday, June 27, 2020.
Seniors and parents will drive up in one vehicle in front of the High School. The same routine that was used for the cap and gown ceremony will be used. The Senior will be able to walk the red carpet up to the staging area to pick up their diploma. The parents can walk out to the front of the staging area to take photos. We will have a person also taking photos that may be purchased as well. Traditional music will be streamed throughout the ceremony. The student's name will be called and the diploma will be presented. After receiving the diploma, students and parents will exit heading east to leave the campus area. The ceremony will be livestreamed as well as a video presentation created so every student will have a copy.

The District team is working together with Roy Hodges, Andy Aguilar, Chris Villegas, J.D. Holloway, and the medical advisors from the area to provide a safe graduation ceremony for our seniors. The health and safety are the main concern with this large event for Crane.
A planning meeting for a Graduation Ceremony that will be within the CDC guidelines and follow local protocol was on June 1, 2020. The graduation will be on June 27, 2020 at 9:00AM. Each senior will have four (4) tickets and sitting will begin at 8:00. Everyone will be spaced accordingly. The same health questionnaire will be utilized and temperatures will be taken before entry. Seniors, you will need to be at the fieldhouse at 8:30AM and there is a space for you to be seated until the ceremony begins.
Seniors, we are working to make this as close to a traditional ceremony as possible. I know this has not been the senior year you were expecting or hoping for, but the main thing that I took away from speaking to some of you was you wanting to ALL be together to graduate. Hopefully, if there is not another flare up of COVID-19 we can accomplish that for you.
I appreciate your patience! I am looking forward to a great celebration with our students.

Dear Seniors and Families,
This afternoon an Emergency Medical Meeting was called due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Crane County. There were medical personnel from Odessa Medical Center, Odessa Regional Hospital, Crane Hospital, Judge Hodges, Mayor Kelly Nichols, Crane Sheriff Department, Crane Police Department, and myself. Upon advice from all the above-mentioned individuals, it is with a saddened heart that we must announce that Crane High School Graduation and the Graduation Parade are postponed until a later date. The health risk is too great to have a large gathering in the community at this time. We will re-schedule as soon as it is safe. Thanks for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Janet Hunt, Superintendent Crane ISD
